Because I'm Katie

Hello lovely followers!

Happy Friday to all of you! You survived a very chilly week! (Maybe it wasn't chilly for all of you, but here in the midwest, it was cold, windy, snowy, and warnings of a white-out. So yay.) So I encourage all of to curl up on your couch with a good book (17 Second Miracle by Jason Wright is highly encouraged right now), sip a cup of hot chocolate, and cuddle with a blanket.

Anyway! So, as I was saying, because I'm Katie I do things a little, uh, differently. I'm gonna be honest here and admit that my brain works different. I handle things differently, I freak out over little things, and my brain literally never turns off. Therefore, I tend to handle situations differently. Especially social situations.

Usually, they're not too bad and we hit it off. Or they're really awkward and I totally screw up the possible friendship. (And sometimes those really awkward first encounters result in great stories for your friends to tell later about how you approached them and knew all about them because you're friends with them on Facebook. Not that that happened or anything.) Today was one of those days when I actually felt like I hit it off with a random stranger!

So long story short, I saw a girl at lunch sitting alone. She was in the  Air Force the first semester of class and just started class now. This entire week she had lunch the same time my friends and I ate, but she was always alone. Today I decided to go over and talk to her and just be a friendly face. We talked for over half an hour! She was super friendly and we had a really great conversation! She was telling me about her Air Force experience, her tattoos, her boyfriend, we talked about adjusting to school, football, dream career, and all that stuff! I walked away with a smile on my face and was really pleased with how well that went! (Of course I'm hoping that she was thinking the same thing, but she may just assume that I'm a crazy blonde that she should avoid from now on.)

Anyway, so that's what I wanted to tell all of you. I literally do my own thing that others wouldn't. Why? Because I'm Katie.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Love,

Katie
